1. Store stonefruit in a closed paper bag at room temperature to speed up the ripening process.
2. Stonefruits are ripe when they give off a sweet fruit aroma and feel slightly soft to the touch when pressed lightly.
3. Small soft spot or browning of the skin on one of your pieces of fruit? That’s most likely just an isolated bruise. Cut it away and enjoy the rest of the goodness!
Cherries last longer when you keep ‘em cold so be sure to stick them in your refrigerator as soon as you get them, waiting to wash in cold water until just before eating to help prevent spoiling. That is, if you can resist eating them right out of the box.
