Our Commitment to DEIB

Hungry Harvest was founded on the idea that accessibility and availability of nutritious food is a right, not a privilege. We know we can be the most authentic and impactful company—both internally and externally—if we fully commit to the principles of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB).

Centering our work around DEIB enables us to have brave and crucial conversations; it encourages us to think critically about the causes and consequences of inequality, as well as the systems that seek to sustain it; and it helps to empower a workforce that has more awareness and willingness to disrupt systems of oppression and inequality around them.

We believe DEIB should be the foundation for all of our business decisions—from the candidates we hire to the farms we work with. By making these values an essential part of our decision-making process, we have the opportunity to make real, meaningful, and measurable contributions to our employees, our communities, and our customers.

We have plenty of ideas on how we can further incorporate DEIB into our workforce, but ideas mean nothing without execution. Moving forward we will recommit to keeping DEIB top of mind when deciding things like the zip codes we expand to, the partnerships we form, the donation partners we choose, and the companies we feature on our Marketplace.

Our definitions of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging will be ever-evolving, and this statement is undoubtedly the first of many versions, but we’re excited to have a starting point and a path forward. We know this journey will not always be easy but we’re thankful to our team, customers, suppliers, drivers, and communities for trusting us and coming along for the ride.
