As the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, almost everything, including getting healthy food to our plates, has become more difficult. But with your support, we've been able to make some beautiful things happen amidst those challenges.

Here's a recap of how, together, we've been able to ensure food access for our neighbors who need it most:

Working with Johns Hopkins University and a team of local organizations we have established a new program that will serve 2,000 food insecure families each week for 16 weeks, prioritizing those most at-risk for severe COVID-19 complications.

Our CEO and Founder, Evan Lutz, made the rounds dropping off hundreds of pounds of apples, bananas, and oranges. 300 pounds went to ICU nurses at Washington Hospital Center and 600 pounds went to Hotel Revival to help service industry workers.

Through partnerships with the University of Maryland Medical System & CHAI, we provided over 2000 Emergency Produce Boxes to Harvest boxes to seniors and families in need. Harvest boxes included a variety of fruits and veggies, protein shakes, and a loaf of bread.

As access to food got more challenging, we ramped up our efforts. We provided almost 4,800 pounds of apples and oranges for distribution to 3,900 families. An additional donation of 1,500 pounds was made to 4mycity to serve over 1,000 families!

Because so many rely on school meal programs to help feed their children throughout the day, we donated 600 pounds of produce to a local school distribution site to help ensure access to healthy produce even when classes are cancelled.

Through a joint effort with Beyond Meat and H&S Bakery, we donated 12,000 lbs of meatless burgers and 5,000 dozen buns to several of our hunger-solving partners: Rainbow Development Center, The Franciscan Center, Food Rescue Baltimore, Shabach Ministries, 4mycity and Real Food Farm.

Giving Back

We feel incredibly lucky that we are able to operate during such a volatile time, so we’re using it as an opportunity to serve others. With your help, since March we’ve provided 50,000 pounds of produce to underserved neighborhoods.

As our efforts have grown, so has our list of hunger-solving partners. To help your local community, please consider making a direct contribution to one of these organizations!
