Every Hungry Harvest delivery you receive saves at least 10 pounds of food from going to waste - it may not sound like much, but over time it really adds up! Since 2014, together we’ve saved over 22 million pounds of produce from going to waste.

Your subscription helps support our Emergency Food Box Program that works with local partners to distribute fresh fruits and vegetables to seniors & families in underserved neighborhoods during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

A big portion of wasted produce is made up by fruits & veggies that are left unharvested on the field. Often a grower can’t see the sense of spending money to harvest something they can’t sell. Rescuing produce with Hungry Harvest helps ensure farmers receive a fair wage for their entire crop.

Every year 19% of our fields are left unharvested. That’s the equivalent of wasting the crops from a farm the size of New Mexico! Rescuing food from going to waste helps ensure that every piece of land is used to its fullest potential.

21% of water used in agriculture goes to growing, washing, and processing food that goes uneaten. When produce goes to waste - so does all of that water. Thanks to your support, every Harvest we deliver helps save at least 480 gallons of water.

20% of people in the United States live in food insecurity without reliable access to enough affordable, nutritious food. Through programs like our Produce In A SNAP Markets your support helps us to create a more equitable food system by providing convenient and empowering shopping experiences that help close the food gap.

Growing, shipping and processing food all create greenhouse gas emissions. When we rescue produce, we prevent those emissions from going to waste. Every Harvest delivery reduces at least 30 pounds of wasted greenhouse gas emissions.
