Meet the Team: Courtney Looker
Behind every Hungry Harvest box is a team that carefully inspects, packs, and prepares each order before it heads out the door. For Courtney Looker, Inventory and Warehouse Services Operations Coordinator, every box represents more than a delivery. It's an opportunity to help provide fresh, healthy food to families while ensuring each order is packed with care and attention.
Working at Hungry Harvest has also expanded Courtney's appreciation for fresh produce. While she's always enjoyed cooking with fruits and vegetables, she's discovered varieties she had never tried before, including patty pan squash and starfruit. Those experiences have deepened her appreciation for the diversity and quality of the produce that passes through our warehouse every day.
One of the things Courtney values most about Hungry Harvest is the genuine care the team puts into every customer experience.
"I think what sets us apart is that we genuinely care about our customers and the products we sell to them," she says. "We provide a personal touch which I find is sometimes absent or lacking in other markets."
That commitment to quality is something Courtney is proud to contribute to each day. Rather than pointing to one specific achievement, she finds the greatest satisfaction in helping ensure customers receive the freshest products possible while rescuing food that might otherwise go to waste.
Food rescue is a mission that resonates deeply with her.
"It feels amazing knowing my work helps rescue perfectly good food, I watch too many documentaries about food waste in this country and it makes me terribly sad seeing these videos of food going to dump," Courtney shares. "I’m super appreciative that Hungry Harvest makes every effort to not see anything go to waste."
She believes rescuing produce has a far-reaching impact by reducing food insecurity, easing financial strain for families, promoting healthier eating, and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
She also knows that every box leaving the warehouse is going to someone's home, and she approaches that responsibility with care. Whether she's checking the quality of the produce or helping prepare orders for delivery, Courtney wants every customer to know their box was packed thoughtfully and with genuine care.
When asked what she hopes customers experience when they open their Hungry Harvest box, Courtney's answer is simple.
"I hope they feel an immediate sense of relief, warmth, and genuine care that we took to pack it."
Looking ahead, Courtney is excited about Hungry Harvest's continued growth in Food is Medicine initiatives and Community School partnerships. She believes these programs will continue expanding access to healthy food while creating lasting impact in communities.
"What excites me most about the future of Hungry Harvest is the positive advancements we are making in the Food is Medicine direction and community school partnerships. I see these areas expanding and hope to see a better future in the food industry."
For Courtney, every box packed in our warehouse represents an opportunity to make a difference for both people and the planet.
