Original Packaging or Paper Bag

Mushrooms are quick to take on the odor of anything stored nearby. Make sure to give 'em some breathing room in the fridge and help 'em avoid picking up any off flavors.

If you have pre-packaged mushrooms, and you don’t use all of them, either transition the remainder to a paper bag or cover the original packaging in your favorite sustainable alternative to plastic wrap.

Clean mushrooms with a damp cloth rather than soaking in water - water-logged mushrooms will not brown well when cooked.
